  Tamarind Tribal Transformations® - Teaching Certification

Located at Tamarind Studio, Milwaukee, WI

The Tamarind Tribal Transformations® is a dance training format. It's goal is to provide the tools to increase a dancers skills through systematic training . The training will focus on increasing skills in the Tamarind Tribal Transformations movement vocabulary and group concepts by means of connecting to oneself . Exercises will include examining the mind-body connection to dance conditioning, improvisational dance techniques, teamwork, creative and artistic exploration, and improving our teaching skills.

Tamarind Tribal Transformations - Bronze Certification

This is Foundations for the TTT® dance program.

A 4 day intensive with 4-6 hours of dancing per day.
Some of what you will learn:
" Mechanics of Proper Posture
" Basic Anatomy & Body Conditioning
" Fundamental Zil Patterns
" Individual Movement Vocabulary for improvisation or choreography
" Group Based Movement Vocabulary for improvisation or choreography
" Optional Teacher Component:
o Super Beth's Teaching Philosophy
o How to Structure a Class
o Keys to Successful Teaching



Walk-up Registrations are available for TTT Training for April 4 - April 7, 2019

 

FAQS

Prerequisites:
*All participants must learn one choreography by video. The video will be available at least one month before the training. Familiarity with basics of ATS® format recommended, but not required.

Certification and Testing:
Certification will be awarded to those who participated 100% in all classes and activities and pass the final exam administered at the end of the training. Testing is optional but required to move on to Level 2 - Framework.

Can it be taken online?
No, this certification requires physical attendance.

What are the testing requirements?
--Be ON TIME to every class and give your full participation.
-Complete any class assignments.
-BE A TEAM PLAYER, treat the teachers, facilitators and fellow students as part of your respected community.
-Take the test.

What if I need to retake the test?
A re-test will be available to those who need it.

If I encounter a scheduling issue and have to miss class time, can I still test?
Yes, you can still participate but you will not be able to test. You are welcome to make up the time you missed at a later date or through special request with Super Beth in order to qualify for testing.

What if I don’t speak fluent English?
All efforts will be made to provide opportunities to learn the format and accommodate language issues. However, it's your responsibility to understand the material as presented and work out means of translation.

Why do I want to take this teacher training?
This training provides the fundamental tools to learn the Tamarind methods of group improvisation and provides tools from Super Beth's experience on how to successfully train troupes and individual students by providing practical examples of class set up, body conditioning, and how to focus on your own personal training to build and improve dance & communication skills, starting with you and ending with those around you.

What does the teacher training certification allow me to do?
Those successfully completing this training and testing are considered Tamarind Extension Teachers. Tamarind Extension Teachers are permitted to teach all concepts within the training in your local areas, you will be added to the Tamarind website as an approved Teacher, you will have access to private video reference materials, and be offered exclusive first chance reservations for continuing trainings and Tamarind hosted events.

Travel Logistics

Lodging

There are several hotels in and around the area. Below are a list of several nearby. Hotels located closer to the airport are cheaper.

 

Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Milwaukee

Located a short distance from the studio (a short car ride away). This hotel is perfect for those individuals who want to avoid extensive travel.

Pfister Hotel

Located walking distance from the studio (a short car ride away). This is an upscale hotel.

Residence Inn

Located a few blocks from the studio (a short car ride away). This hotel specializes in providing extra amenities such as a kitchen to cook your own meals.

 

Food

There are several food options in Milwaukee for almost any palette.

**Please note, several of the downtown restaurants are closed on Sundays.

A microwave is available at the studio for those looking to pack their lunch instead.

Botanas

Just a few steps away, this Mexican restaurant is one of the best in the city.

Milwaukee Public Market

All around versatile place with several food options a short ride from the studio.

Hamburger Mary's

Just around the corner from the studio, a local favorite for burgers and other American favorites. Open in the evenings.

 

Transportation

Milwaukee is a pretty easy place to get around. If you stay in the downtown area, most everything will be within walking distance and most of the hotels will have shuttles from the airport.

Check with your hotel for shuttles or "the Hop" routes.

Taxi's are always located near the Pfister hotel should you require one.

**Helpful hint - Check with other workshop participants to find out how they are getting around and carpool or share a fare.
